Booking Terms & Requests
Booking Terms:
The barn has a maximum occupancy of 4 guests (in 2 double bedrooms). We can cater for young babies but we regret that the barn isn't suitable for children aged 18 months - 10 years old due to the open fronted terrace. We ask that if you do have children on your stay that you supervise them whilst in the barn as we're not able to fence in the front terrace section.
We currently allow 2 dogs for each stay, although with prior arrangement we may allow more than 2 dogs. Please drop us a message on the contact us section first.
The minimum stay is currently 4 nights.
Check in is at 6PM (may be earlier at owner's discretion depending on other bookings). Check out is 11AM.
Your stay can be cancelled with 14 days' notice. We require a £100 deposit to book, with the balancing payment required 2 weeks before your stay.
There is also a £150 damage deposit which will be refunded within 3 working days' of your check out.
Dogs
Furry friends are very welcome at The Long Barn!
The back garden is enclosed, although please do check that the latch on the back gate is closed before letting your dogs out.
Please ensure that all dogs are on lead when in the unenclosed side garden or in the parking area as there are donkeys, sheep & cows in the neighboring fields, and possibly other dogs in the other holiday lets.
The donkeys are mischievous and will chase dogs given the opportunity, and there are also electric fences enclosing the donkeys in their garden.
Dogs are welcome on the furniture, although we ask you to bring your own throws to cover the sofas and please bring your own bedding if your dogs are allowed on the beds. There will be an additional cleaning charge if dog hair is found on the bedding provided.
All dog waste is to be removed and disposed of from the back garden, side garden and the parking area. Please make sure this is done in a timely manner as our gardeners Charlie and Anna attend regularly to mow the grass.
Dogs must not be left unattended in the Barn in any circumstance.
Highford Farm is a medieval and Victorian working farm, with a Grade 2 listed status. The Clovelly Donkeys are in the field adjacent to the side garden – they’re very vocal! You’re welcome to say hello to them, and you can walk over to the Highford Farm cottage for proper meet and greets. Please don’t allow dogs off lead near them (the donkeys will chase!), and the donkeys will also push over prams given the opportunity.
The neighbouring fields also contain cattle and sheep. Please be mindful that the area is surrounded by working farms, and there will be the occasional farmyard fragrances and tractors.
No Smoking or Vaping:
We are strictly no smoking & no vaping accommodation. Please do not smoke or vape within the barn or nearby the barn. If you do smoke outside, we request that you ensure that cigarette butts are completely extinguished, before disposing of them in the main bins.
Please do not leave cigarette butts unextinguished as the smallest spark can cause devastating fires not only putting yourself at risk, but also others, the many Grade 2 listed properties, the donkeys and other livestock.
